There is an important AIR QUALITY FORUM in the Comox Valley on Tuesday, April 4th.
This is an “Elected Officials Forum” for all elected people in the valley. However, the public can attend as observers.
We are still waiting for the agenda to be posted but know there will be some great presentations from:
- the lead researcher on the recent wood smoke/heart attack study;
- the air quality meteorologist for our region;
- a medical health officer,
- a senior scientist from the BC Centre for Disease Control (who will be talking about preliminary results from the recent mobile monitoring study); and
- people from Port Alberni and Cowichan Valley who will talk about what they have done in their areas to address wood smoke issues.
The meeting is from 4pm-7pm at the CVRD board room at 550B Comox Road, Courtenay. Please come out to learn about the issue and to show elected officials it is an issue you are concerned about. Space is limited!
We’ve been told the agenda will be posted by Friday morning at the latest on CVRD’s meeting agenda page.
